En l&#8217;art culinari de la Gr\u00e8cia antiga destaca la passi\u00f3 pel peix i el marisc. Els grecs van inaugurar el costum de celebrar banquets entre amics i coneguts, en els quals la sobretaula era la protagonista. El vi grec, amb tota la seva parafern\u00e0lia material (les cr\u00e0teres i les copes anomenades kylix), va constituir un tipus d&#8217;alta cuina internacional, perqu\u00e8 les elits de tot el Mediterrani i del centre d&#8217;Europa importaven sense parar cer\u00e0miques i vi grecs per a imitar el luxe hel\u00b7l\u00e8.
