Las vides y los vinos cruzan el oc\u00e9ano Atl\u00e1ntico y llegan a Am\u00e9rica, en sus inicios, a M\u00e9xico, Per\u00fa y Chile. A medida que viaja, el vino se globaliza, lo que lleva a la necesidad de evitar fraudes y apropiaciones indebidas de nombres y marcas, originando la primera Denominaci\u00f3n de Origen en Alicante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En este cap\u00edtulo conoceremos la obra de Alonso de Herrera, un destacado tratadista agr\u00edcola espa\u00f1ol. Veremos la aparici\u00f3n de variedades que a\u00fan reconocemos en la actualidad, como Riesling, Malvas\u00eda, Aragon\u00e9s, Torront\u00e9s, entre otras. La enolog\u00eda se vuelve m\u00e1s cient\u00edfica que nunca, y las t\u00e9cnicas como el sulfitado y el clarificado se mejoran y tecnifican. Los vinos fortificados, como el Sack, y los dulces Tokaji se convierten en emblemas de la \u00e9poca. Adem\u00e1s, sorprenderemos con el nombre de Leonardo da Vinci, del cual descubriremos su faceta como vinicultor y su contribuci\u00f3n a la restauraci\u00f3n. Mientras tanto, Murano se convierte en el epicentro mundial del vidrio.
