What’s a cocktail? And a cocktail bar? In this chapter we will try to shed some light on the two central terms at the core of this work. First we examine the controversial etymology of the term, then consider its historical use and the limits of its classical definitions. We also ask a series of questions that challenge some of the most common preconceptions. The chapter will also address some of the basic concepts of Bullipedia, such as product, elaborated product and elaboration.<\/p>\n
