We chose not to start from the moment that the \u00abcocktail\u00bb is first referred to in its modern meaning, but to go further back in order to reveal the historical forces that lead to its emergence. Consequently, we will travel back to prehistoric times to learn that humans have an instinctive urge to mix drinks.
