
Ferran Adrià and Christian Escribà have a close friendship. Their friendship was forged over the years as the result of a close personal and professional relationship between elBulli and the Escribà family.
Many moments will always be remembered, but one of the most endearing is undoubtedly the memory of master chocolatier Antoni Escribà, upholding his tradition of decorating the Easter eggs on the restaurant terrace. These small works of art would later be given by his good friend, Juli Soler, to customers over the Easter holidays.
For this and many other reasons, Christian was adamant that he should play a part in the grand occasion of the final service at elBullirestaurante. Together with his life companion Patricia Schmidt, he made this spectacular creation in meringue and sugar paste, a veritable symbol of a celebration to show that elBulli would keep going stronger than ever.
