2026In 2026, Gènesi premieres, a six-episode drama series directed by David Pujol and produced by 3Cat, Minoria Absoluta and Fishcorb Media, recreating the history of elBullirestaurante and the gastronomic revolution led by Ferran Adrià, Juli Soler and Albert Adrià. The series, starring Miquel Fernández as Ferran Adrià, premiered on 21 September on TV3 and the 3Cat streaming platform. It is scheduled for an international release on Netflix on 20 November, with Spanish and English dubbed versions, bringing the story of elBulli to a global audience.
The production tells the story of how a small restaurant located in Cala Montjoi, in Roses (Girona), became a global benchmark for creativity and innovation, transforming the way we understand cooking and marking a turning point in the history of contemporary gastronomy.
Ferran Adrià and the elBullifoundation team have played an active role in the project, particularly in the curation of its gastronomic and culinary content, contributing their knowledge, historical documentation and expertise to ensure the highest level of accuracy in recreating the world of elBulli.
One of the most significant aspects of this work has been the recreation of more than 70 original dishes from the restaurant, with the involvement of former members of the elBulli team, including Marc Cuspinera, Alain Devahive and Eduard Bosch. This process has made it possible to recreate techniques, dishes and presentations that reflect the restaurant’s creative evolution throughout its history.
The involvement in Gènesi is closely aligned with one of elBullifoundation’s main objectives: to preserve and share the legacy of elBullirestaurante, helping its history, philosophy and contributions to gastronomy reach new generations through the audiovisual medium.
