The museum and the multimedia guide
elBulli1846 is the headquarters of elBullifoundation and is located on the site of former elBullirestaurante. It is located at Cala Montjoi, in the Cap de Creus Natural Park.
Your visit to the museum will allow you to understand why a paradigm shift in world gastronomy took place here and will invite you to reflect on your relationship with knowledge and innovation.
The route through elBulli1846 exhibition comprises four main spaces:
- An outdoor space devoted to reflection on cooking and innovation, Bullinianos, and the Sapiens methodology and its applications.
- The space that was formerly occupied by the restaurant showcases the key milestones in the history of elBulli.
- A space dedicated to interdisciplinary relationships.
- And finally, a space dedicated to elBulliDNA, where you can find out about all the projects carried out by the foundation.
Yes, you can visit the museum with children, but please be aware of our regulations. As the visit is estimated to take two and a half hours, children may become tired.
- elBulli1846 does not offer a childminding service.
- Children under 11 enter free of charge if they accompany their parent(s) or guardians who have purchased tickets. In order to qualify for free admission, proof of eligibility must be shown.
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The visit is estimated to last two and a half hours.
elBulli1846 does not currently offer guided tours. We offer a free multimedia guide that will provide you with all the explanations you need to understand the exhibition and its contents.
The museum exhibits and visitor information are in Spanish, Catalan and English.
The multimedia guide is available in four languages: Spanish, Catalan, English and French.

Accessibility
elBulli1846 is accessible for people with impaired mobility, with all areas connected via paths and rampsWe have two free parking spaces reserved exclusively for people with impaired mobility. Advance booking is recommended.
We also have a wheelchair loan service available for pre-booking.

In the event of queues, preferential entry will be given to persons with disabilities or impaired mobility.

For each installation in the exhibition, the multimedia guide allows visually impaired visitors to listen to audio files with complementary content and hearing-impaired visitors to read the text equivalent to the audio file. Available in all languages (Spanish, Catalan, English and French).
Entry is permitted for guide dogs to assist blind and visually impaired visitors.
How to get there
elBulli1846 is located at Cala Montjoi, which is 7.5 km from the centre of Roses.
elBullifoundation provides a free shuttle bus service from Roses to elBulli1846 and back. The bus stop is located at the following address:
Carretera Besalú-Roses (the road leading to Roses, at the entrance to the town): Latitude: 42.267775, Longitude: 3.162134
You can also come in your own vehicle, although you should be aware that access to the area is restricted between 15 July and 31 August.
Please note that to reach Cala Montjoi from the centre of Roses, take Gran Via de Pau Casals and turn off onto Carretera a Montjoi.
You can also reach Cala Montjoi by sea, although we must mention that there is no jetty in the cove and you will have to make your own way to the beach from the mooring buoy you can hire.

elBulli1846 has a private car park for the exclusive use of museum visitors.
At the time you purchase your ticket, you will have the option to pre-book a parking space for 3 hours. During the purchasing process, you will be allowed to choose time slots for which parking spaces are available.
There is a strict 3-hour limit and no extensions are permitted. After that time, the space will be allocated to another vehicle.

Road access for vehicles (except motorcycles and bikes) is restricted on all days during the period between 15 July and 31 August from the hours of 10:30 to 16:30.
Your purchase of a ticket to visit elBulli1846 will exempt you from this restriction. Just show your ticket to the person in charge of the barrier controlling entry to the park, which can be found halfway between Roses and Cala Montjoi, at the location called Mirador de Punta Falconera. You will be able to reach elBulli1846 without any problem.
The exemption is only valid for entry with a vehicle on the day of your booking.

If you purchase tickets online, once you have completed the process, you will receive an e-mail with your tickets as a PDF document to download. Check your inbox and spam folder. If you do not receive them, please contact us at info@elbulli1846.com or by calling (+34) 638 00 18 46.
You can either print our your ticket or show the downloaded version on your mobile device or tablet.
Once a ticket has been purchased, changes can be made or refunds given only up to 24 hours after purchase.
Should the museum have to close for reasons beyond its control, tickets will automatically be refunded in full.
You have a space of 15 minutes in which to enter the museum before your visit starts. Therefore, we kindly ask you to be present at the time indicated on your ticket.
If you have pre-booked a parking space, you can only enter the car park 15 minutes before the time your visit is due to start.
It is currently not possible to arrange visits in large groups. If your group has more than nine people, please contact us at info@elbulli1846.com so that we can come up with a solution.
Visits cannot be made by school groups during the museum’s opening period. Dates will be made available for visits by school groups from October onwards. If you are a teaching professional and are interested in arranging a visit with your students, please contact us at info@elbulli1846.com and we will provide you with the necessary information.
Yes, you can purchase mementos of your visit at the official museum shop, located at the exit.
No, the museum shop also has a separate entrance that is freely accessible. The opening hours of the shop are the same as those of the museum: 9:30–20:00.

No, there is no restaurant.
Remember that elBulli1846 is no longer elBullirestaurante, and we do not offer a meal service.
Yes. For your safety, backpacks and other large bags must be stored in the cloakroom lockers.
The size of the lockers is 45 cm x 40 cm, the standard size for a backpack.
Others
Visits will not be cancelled in the event of rain, wind, fog or any other inclement weather. Therefore, no refunds will be given for this reason.
In the event that adverse weather conditions mean that a visit to the facilities poses a risk to the safety of visitors, the it will be cancelled. In this case, any tickets affected by this decision will be refunded by the same payment method used for their purchase.
elBulli1846 is a museum with an outdoor section. Please remember to wear clothing that is suitable for the heat, as well as a raincoat or umbrella in case of rain.
Animals are not permitted, except guide dogs when needed.
