The Spanish Royal Household appoints Ferran Adrià together with Juan Mari Arzak to prepare the gala dinner served to the world's royal families on the eve of the wedding of Prince Felipe to Doña Letizia.

Ferran Adrià chairs the Advisory Committee of Alícia (Alimentación y Ciencia [Food and Science]), a Caixa de Manresa project at the Monastery of Sant Benet. This is a unique project working towards future improvement in food.

The Leading Brands of Spain Forum names him a Spanish Brand ambassador for Culture, together with Juan Antonio Samaranch, Amancio Ortega, José Carreras, El País, Severiano Ballesteros and Valentí Fuster.

2005

The Ferran Adrià Chair in Gastronomic Culture and Food Sciences is set up at the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid.

2006

At the Madrid Fusión Conference, 60 journalists from all over the world publish a list of the Ten Most Influential Chefs of the Last Ten Years, choosing Ferran Adrià as number one.

2007

On 16th June the art exhibition Documenta12, where Ferran Adrià has been invited, opens. The contribution consists of turning elBullirestaurante, in cala Montjoi, into the pavilion G of Documenta, what constitutes a response to the contextualization of the vanguard cuisine in the world of arts.

In December, Ferran Adrià is conferred Doctor Honoris Causa by the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Barcelona, at the proposal of Professor Claudi Mans.

2008

In February, two films are shown in the category "culinary cinema" at The International Film Festival Berlinale, taking inspiration from Ferran Adrià´s career. Ferran participates in a debate related to this context.

In July, the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, at the proposal of Professor Christopher Fynsk from The Centre for Modern Thought, confers Doctor Honoris Causa in Humanities on Ferran Adrià, for his contribution to contemporary thought.
